Heather Mcpherson

Joining us today is Heather McPherson. Heather is the President and Corporate Executive Officer at Women's College Hospital. She previously served at Women’s College Hospital as the Executive Vice President of Patient Care and Ambulatory Innovation. She is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at U of T. She is a strategic innovator and leader.

Tabatha Bull

Joining us today is Tabatha Bull. Tabatha is the President and CEO of Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. Tabatha works with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal businesses to help strengthen a prosperous Indigenous economy and Canadian market. She sits on the boards of Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Independent Electricity System Operator, and Dexterra Group. Tabatha is Anishinaabe and a proud member of Nipissing First Nation near North Bay, Ontario.

Cherie Brant 

Cherie is a Partner and National Leader for BLG's Indigenous Law Group. She works in a wide variety of sectors, including energy and transmission, land development and financing on First Nations lands, franchising, cannabis, and economic development. Cherie serves on the board of directors for TD Bank, The Canadian Club of Toronto, and Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, among others. Cherie is both Mohawk and Ojibway from the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Territory.

Andrea Wood

Andrea is the Chief legal officer at TELUS. She previously served as the CLO at Freedom Mobile, previously known as WIND. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a BA and is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, where she earned her JD. In her current role, she provides legal advice on the global business and operations of TELUS. She also serves as the Corporate Secretary to the TELUS Board of Directors.

Jennifer Quaglietta

Jennifer is the CEO & Registrar of Professional Engineers of Ontario. She also sits on the Board of Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and is an Industry Affiliate at the Centre for Healthcare Engineering. She previously worked with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, North York General Hospital, and Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC).

Arlene Minott

Arlene is the general counsel and corporate secretary of Dairy Farmers of Ontario. She is also chair of its equity and inclusion working group and previously worked at Axiom. She has held senior roles both in the public and private sector, such as the provincial government and Sobeys.

Nicole Desloges

Nicole is the Senior Vice President of People at LifeLabs. LifeLabs is a gamechanger in the healthcare space and serves over 112 million Canadians yearly. Nicole previously worked at Progressive Waste Solutions, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) and Transcontinental Incorporated. She has a degree in Business Administration and an MBA.  

Deborah MacLatchy

Deborah MacLatchy the President and Vice-chancellor of Wilfrid Laurier University. She is also an active researcher and graduate student supervisor, focussing on ecotoxicology and comparative endocrinology. She previously served in various senior roles at University of New Brunswick has a Bachelor of Science in biology from Acadia University, a PhD in zoology from the University of Manitoba, and attended University of Guelph for post-doctoral work.

 

Chih-Ting Lo

 Chih-Ting is a leader, entrepreneur, and decarbonization advisor. She is the founder and principal at EELO Solutions. EELO is a unique energy and carbon management consulting firm advising leaders in the mining and minerals sector. She has a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering. 

 

Jacqueline Hutchings

Jacqueline Hutchings is the co-founder of Friendlier, a company that aims to reduce single-use plastic waste generated by disposable food packaging. She is also in the 30 under 30 Forbes Class of 2023 for Social Impact. She is the Co-Chair of the Leadership Council at PAC NEXT and a recent graduate from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences.

 

Rumina Velshi

Rumina is the President and CEO of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. Rumina was a commission member from 2011 until she moved into her current role. She worked in various roles at the Ontario Hydro and Ontario Power Generation and is a Board member of the Ontario Energy Board. She is also the Chairperson of the Commission on Safety Standards.

Mindy Wight

Mindy Wight is the CEO of Nch’ḵayÌ“ Development Corporation. This corporation was founded in 2018 to serve as the economic development arm of the Squamish Nation, which Mindy is also a member of and was previously the CFO. Mindy is a CPA and ​​​​has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University of Northern British Columbia. If you have any further questions please email communications@nchkay.com. 

Earlene Huntley

Earlene Huntley is the Group CFO of CAA Club Group, which includes three insurance companies: Echelon Insurance, CAA Insurance and Orion Travel Insurance. She has over 20 years of experience in the financial and insurance industries. She also volunteers as the Chair of the Finance, Audit and Investment Committee of the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.

Kim Furlong

Kim is the CEO of Canada’s Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, also known as CVCA. She was previously the Director of Federal Government Affairs at Amgen, Vice-President of Federal Government Relations at the Retail Council of Canada, and worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs. She is a dynamic leader with lots of business experience and an acumen for leading both private organizations and governments.

Tammy Moore

Tammy Moore is an experienced CEO, leader, board director, entrepreneur, and consultant. Tammy has worked in so many sectors, including real estate, manufacturing, professional services, health systems, and private equity. As CEO of ALS Canada, she innovatively leads an international charity/ NGO that focuses on research, support and services, and advocacy to policy makers and government.

Emma Kirwin

Emma Kirwin a female entrepreneur, writer, and law student. Emma is the co-founder & CEO of DirtMarket, an innovative clean tech research company that is changing the ways Canadians manage and move soil. She was the editor and chief of the Brock press before becoming a law student at Osgoode Hall Law School.
